Saturday Morning Ups and Downs

As of this morning, Katie's hemoglobin was climbing again and was at the respectable level of 10.2. That is one of the "ups" for the day. Another up is that her fever broke last night at 10pm and she is feeling well enough this morning to be happily talking and eating this morning. She is requesting chicken soup as fast as she can get it.

The only down of the day so far is that her ANC has continued to drop and is now a perfect zero and her platelets are low enough to require a breakfast transfusion. Doctors have said that her ANC needs to be at least 500 before she can go home, so this is likely to extend her stay a little longer. On a positive note, the doctors told us this morning that we are likely through the hard part and now she should start the recovery process and we just have to wait.

Very glad to hear you're feeling a bit better this morning Katie and that you're through the tough part. A few platlets for breakfast should do you just right.
An ANC of zero...well...on the good side, you can only go up from there!
Have a good day, guys.

Hey Guys, It sounds a little better to me. " I guess". I am thinking of you all at all times. I get a lot of calls from people in our church, asking how Katie is doing. And they are all praying everyday. God Bless You All. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day. We must say that everyday. Have a good night. By the way say hi to Ryan and his family. Josh must be having fun.
Lots of Love

Good evening Kelley family, just a quick note to say were thinking of you often. We had our first BBQ out side today. Looking forward to lots more and hopefully you all can come over soon and join in all the fun!Abbie can't wait to take Katie in her moon bounce, and soon it will be pool time... After Katie gets through this rough bump in the road, it should be smooth riding for a while we hope... Lets us know if we can help in any way! Love to all....
