Hanging On

Katie is just hanging on and waiting for her next transfusion at this point. Her energy levels are really low and her whole Body is hypersensitive to touch right now. It hurts her just to pick her up. Her blood cell counts were really quite low when we left the hospital the other day. They were borderline at the time and the doctors decided to see if she could wait three more days before getting the next transfusion. Well she is wating, but I can't say that her quality of life is very good. She and I will both be glad to get some fresh blood into her on Monday.

Good Morning Miss Katie, Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Hopefully things will be better soon. We are off to Littleton this morning to retrieve grammy Kelley. She went to aunt Mindy's for a few days. We don't care for the ride, but at least we have the dvd player to keep us occupied. I have a pair of jelly shoes for you, they are my favorite shoes but mom says they don't fit me. She is right They were too small last year, but I wanted to get just one more wear out of them. So I am going to pass them to you and hopefully you love them as much as I did. Bye for now.
Love your cousin Abbie Rae.

Hi Guys-
Sorry to hear that Katie isn't feeling well. Tell her that her cousins are thinking of her and looking forward to the next time they can see her. Let us know when you're coming down tomorrow, Ryan is home so we should be able to sneak in and see you around his meeting schedule.
Love, Auntie Heather

Dear Rick, Amy, Josh and Katie,
Thinking of you all; just watched the transfusion video and am amazed by Katie's spirit, her family's love, and the incredible medical care and knowledge that helps her be well. Thanks for doing these blogs which keep us knowing what is going on; if thoughts can help, there is lots of caring energy coming your way. Here's to a good transfusion tomorrow, and hope there are many wonderful times this vacation week!

Hey Folks, out in Utah and taking a day off- 40 degrees and crusty. So took time to catch up on the blog and watched Rick's video of Katie's transfusion process- What a brave little girl. Gerry is being very patient with all of us- there are 7 people, 4 laptops, 4 cell phones, 1 Treo, Ipod, 1 Ipaq, and 3 cameras. And they are all being used. Gerry brought a book to read- how pedestrian. Hugs, Cindy
